JOANNA GLUM is a director and writer, an actor and teacher, a dramaturg and licensed wedding officiant.
You can find her works: screened at the Middlebury New Filmmakers Festival & Palm Springs ShortsFest Film Market; developed by the Philadelphia & Edinburgh Fringe Festivals; published in The Brooklyn Review and by Tripwire Harlot Press; and recognized or supported by the American Zoetrope Screenplay Competition, Yefe Nof Writer-in-Residence, Hedgebrook, Millay Arts, Moving Arts MADLAb, and New Millennium Fiction Competition. Joanna has professionally dabbled in film editing and production, working on features such as Bumblebee and Lady Bird, as well as in teaching, creating original social justice documentary theatre pieces with some of the finest artists (and students) in California.
She’s most recently been slated for writing residency at Vermont Studio Center and awarded an Alumni Grant from The Sachs Program for Arts Innovation for development of a feature.
Joanna’s a proud Californian, passionate about road trips, families that defy type, and her grandmother’s chuztpah. She tells familiar stories in unfamiliar ways to build worlds that don’t exist for folks who already do.
